GeoLens Account Deletion and Data Removal Notice
This document explains how GeoLens handles account deletion, app deactivation, and local data cleanup, so users can understand how personal information, work records, and local photo-related settings may be removed.
1. Current Product Form
The current version of GeoLens is mainly a local-first workflow tool. Core features include photo capture, location acquisition, metadata writing, local record management, and optional uploads to user-configured servers.
Under the current product model:
- The app may not provide a unified cloud account system
- Most data is stored locally on your device or on servers configured by you
- If future versions introduce organization accounts, cloud sync, or backend services, this document can serve as the basis for account deletion and data removal flows
2. Data You Can Delete or Clear
Based on the current capabilities of the project, the data you can usually clear includes:
- Local photo records and workspace records
- Template settings, custom fields, and metadata presets
- Upload server settings, such as FTP, FTPS, or SFTP host, port, username, and remote directory
- Map source settings and other local parameters
- Upload state, failure reasons, remote paths, retry counts, and related task records stored in the app database
- Photo files stored in the device gallery or local directories
3. How to Remove Data in the Local Version
3.1 Clear app-side business data
If you no longer use GeoLens, you can clean app data in this order:
- Delete or disable upload server settings
- Delete custom templates, field settings, and map source settings
- Delete local records in the workspace
- If needed, clear app cache and local database data
3.2 Remove photo files from the device
If you want to further remove photos captured or processed by the app, also check:
- Photos in the system gallery
- Imported files or intermediate processing files in local directories
- Any copies you backed up to external storage
3.3 Uninstall the app
After the above cleanup is complete, you can uninstall the app through the system uninstall flow. In most cases, the app’s private directory, local settings, and local database records are removed by the system at the same time.
4. Notes About Remote Server Data
If you enabled FTP, FTPS, or SFTP uploads, related photos and metadata may already have been sent to a remote server designated by you or your organization.
That portion of the data is usually not controlled solely by the app, so:
- Uninstalling the app or deleting local records does not automatically remove files from the remote server
- You need to log in to the corresponding server yourself, or contact the server administrator, to handle remote files
- If the server is maintained by an organization, the organization’s own retention and deletion rules should be followed
5. What “Account Deletion” May Mean in Future Cloud Versions
If future versions introduce account registration, organization sign-in, or cloud synchronization, account deletion may usually include:
- Disabling account sign-in capability
- Deleting or anonymizing personal profile data directly associated with the account
- Clearing app settings, synchronization records, and backend task records associated with the account
- Deleting or de-identifying retained data where allowed by law
However, to satisfy auditing, dispute handling, security compliance, or legal obligations, some logs or necessary records may still need to be retained for a legally required period.
6. Reminders Before Deletion
- Please confirm whether you still need to keep original photos, exported copies, or metadata records
- Please confirm whether project materials stored on remote servers are still needed
- If your organization has retention requirements for field photos or evidence chains, do not delete related data without authorization
- Once deletion is complete, some data may not be recoverable
7. Contact and Handling Channel
If you are using an internal organization build, a customized build, or a future version with an account system, you may request deletion through:
- The contact method shown on the app release page or project repository
- Your organization’s system administrator or data administrator
- A future in-app “Account deletion” or “Data removal” entry
Once a valid request is received, it may be handled according to the actual product model, deployment mode, and legal requirements.
8. Document Usage Note
This page is the project-level HTML notice for account deletion and data removal, suitable for the current GeoLens version that is mainly local-first.
1. Operating entity name
2. Deletion request email or contact number
3. Processing time limit
4. Whether cloud accounts, cloud sync, or backend log retention are involved
